Tucked away at 3 Chome-3-29 Koshienguchi, Nishinomiya, Hyogo 663-8113, Japan, Katomandukari Puja Koshien feels like a welcoming neighborhood spot where comforting Nepalese flavors meet a relaxed dining atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant gives off a friendly and casual vibe. The space is simple yet inviting, making it a comfortable place to slow down, explore the menu, and enjoy a satisfying dinner.

One of the first things that stands out when browsing the menu is the variety of classic Nepalese dishes. Many visitors come specifically for the flavorful カレー, which arrives rich, fragrant, and perfectly balanced with spices. The curry pairs wonderfully with freshly baked naan, and the popular pujaランチ&チーズナン is often mentioned in reviews for good reason. The cheese naan is soft, warm, and generously filled, making it an excellent companion to the curry.

Another highlight worth trying is the タンドリーチキン. It’s grilled until slightly charred on the outside while staying tender and juicy inside. The smoky aroma and well-marinated spices give the dish a deep, satisfying flavor that feels authentic and comforting. Many guests enjoy ordering it alongside a cold beer, which complements the spices beautifully and adds to the relaxed dinner experience.

For those who like finishing a meal with something sweet, the dessert options offer a pleasant surprise. The クリフィと本日のプリン チャイプリン brings a gentle sweetness with subtle chai notes that make it feel unique yet familiar. Pairing it with a scoop of バニラアイス creates a simple but delightful end to the meal. It’s the kind of dessert that leaves you lingering at the table a little longer.

Dining here also feels easy and convenient. The restaurant offers attentive table service, allowing guests to enjoy their meals at a comfortable pace. Payment options such as PayPay and dBarai add modern convenience, which is especially appreciated by locals who prefer quick digital payments.

What makes Katomandukari Puja Koshien stand out is its balance between approachable comfort and flavorful Nepalese cooking. The location in Nishinomiya makes it a convenient stop for locals exploring nearby streets or visitors searching for a cozy restaurant serving hearty dinner options. Whether you’re browsing the menu for a satisfying curry, enjoying tandoori dishes with friends, or simply relaxing with dessert and drinks, the atmosphere encourages you to settle in and enjoy the moment.

Many diners leave positive reviews praising the comforting dishes and welcoming environment. It’s the kind of place that feels easy to return to, especially when you’re craving warm naan, rich curry, and a relaxed restaurant experience in the Koshienguchi neighborhood.

What customers say?

“ All the staff in the dining area were Japanese, and they were very kind. They were very thoughtful, offering water and refills of naan. Service was a little slow for an Indian restaurant...maybe because it was lunchtime? The naan was thin, so it was chewy but also had a strong crispness. The naan itself was very delicious, so it was enough to eat on its own. The cheese naan was also filled with plenty of cheese and was great. The curry was quite mild, so it's best to choose something spicier. If it's not spicy enough for you, you can get a sauce (chili pepper-based) to add more spice later! ”

“ A famous YouTuber recommended this restaurant, so I wanted to try it. It's about a 1-2 minute walk from JR Koshienguchi Station. I changed the naan in my ¥1,210 Kathmandu lunch to cheese naan (+¥220). The daily curry was butter curry x keema, spiciness level 4 (very spicy). I chose the very spicy option, but it wasn't spicy at all. Butter curry itself is sweet, so that's understandable. All the dishes were mild and not spicy. The waiter described the Nepalese dish and tandoori dish as stir-fried vegetables, but it felt more like meat and potato stew. It wasn't spicy at all, but it had a nice spice and a sweetness similar to meat and potato stew. The other dish was chicken tikka, which was delicious. The salad had sesame dressing. Indian curry restaurants often use orange aurora-like dressings, but is this because this is a Nepalese curry restaurant? Or was it because they chose a flavor more familiar to Japanese people? The cheese naan was incredibly delicious. It was so overflowing with cheese that it was delicious just eaten without dipping it in the curry. So we ended up with a lot of leftover curry. A famous YouTuber also recommended the cheese naan, and it was a perfect choice. They kept asking if we wanted more water and naan. They even made small naan. I had some curry left over, but I was so full I couldn't eat any more naan, so I declined, but I still thought the restaurant offered attentive service. I received a complimentary ticket, so I plan to get iced chai next time. After the family sitting next to me left, I heard the sound of the staff carefully spraying and wiping the table, chair seats, and even the backs. I've rarely seen a restaurant that cleans so thoroughly, one group at a time. On YouTube, they said that all the staff waved goodbye to each other when we left, but that didn't happen, lol. 2023.02.11 ”

“ The restaurant is spacious and clean, with a cafe-like atmosphere. This is unusual for a curry restaurant. There are many staff members, all of whom are polite and comfortable. However, the prices are a little higher than other restaurants. The naan is quite thick. I don't like the taste, but the atmosphere was nice. ”

“ Our planned BBQ got canceled due to an approaching typhoon, so my friend and I decided to grab lunch somewhere nearby! So we headed to Kathmandu Curry PUJA Koshien! After walking for about 20 minutes in the heat, I arrived drenched in sweat. As I sat down and turned on the handheld fan, the lady who brought me my water was considerate and asked, "Is it hot? Shall I turn down the temperature (on the air conditioner)?" (*´ㅁ`*) So kind... I thanked her, saying, "It's just that I get hot easily, so it's fine. Thank you (*´꒳`*)," and pulled myself together and ordered the Kathmandu lunch! For the daily curry, I ordered butter chicken curry (level 2 spiciness)! I also swapped one of the naan sets for cheese naan (I was so engrossed in eating that I forgot to take a picture lol)! It's been a while since I last visited PUJA...it was as delicious as ever I don't have the brain to remember the names of the daily specials that arrive before the naan arrives, so I don't remember any of them, but both were spicy but not too hot, and absolutely delicious (*´꒳`*) I particularly liked the pork stewed in countless spices (as I explained). Then the freshly baked naan arrived, and I tried the curry! First, I took a bite of the naan...it was chewy, slightly sweet, and delicious!! You can eat as much naan as you want? Can you believe it??? Is it God? Next, I took a bite of the butter chicken curry...it was so delicious, I was filled with happiness... The butter chicken curry was so mild that even I, who don't like spicy food, didn't notice the spiciness, so I thought maybe I could go for a level 4 next time! It was sweet and mellow, but still had a nice kick of spice, making the sweat that had been dwindling begin to slowly break out again, lol. And then the cheese naan arrived!! It was hot! But I wanted it fresh!! So hot!! The cheese was so stretchy I couldn't get it off!! So hot!! But I wanted it right away!! So hot!! I was so overwhelmed, but with the help of a friend, I took a bite right away, piping hot. Ahhhhh, so delicious!! (*´ㅁ`*) I was so happy... The cheese was amazing, the calories were amazing... Then I dipped it in the curry and took a bite. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm (੭ु ›ω‹ )੭ु⁾⁾ I was thankful for the typhoon (?) Because curry and cheese is just the best...? It was so delicious that we were shouting "It's so good!", "It's so yummy!", and "It's so good!" every time we ate, but neither my friend nor I are big eaters, so there was no way we could ask for a second helping of naan. Despite succumbing to the cheese's brutality (a compliment), we managed to finish it all. By the end, we were both eating like we were going through a drudgery, like we were on a diet, but we didn't want to leave anything behind, so we did our best to finish it all! The lassi was also delicious, and it left us feeling refreshed at the end! Afterwards, we went to Tsukashin for some post-meal exercise and walked around, but even by nightfall, we weren't hungry. LOL It filled me up so much! (*´ㅁ`*) lol It was a really happy lunch! I usually get butter chicken curry, so next time I'll try something different! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و ugh! It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal! ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ ) Bow! ”

“ I arrived at 11:20 on a Sunday. There was an affiliated paid parking lot, so I parked there. The restaurant was probably full with reservations. Apparently, there is a discount if you make a reservation. I was second in line. I looked at the menu and ordered first. As soon as I sat down, the food was brought out. It came with two types of curry and a side dish, and the freshly baked naan went down well. I ordered level 2 (spicy), but it wasn't that spicy. The staff were also polite and helpful. I'll visit again. ”

“ Have you heard about PUJA? It is a specialty restaurant of Indian and Nepalese curry. In fact, I have been there a few times. The curres were very delicious. I want to have meal again. There are many kinds of curry on the menu. And we can choose the flavor of curry from thirteen choices, so I was able to find what I want to eat easily. Moreover, there are the nan sets. You can have exstra helpings many times, therefore you should be full. I would like to recommend that you eat curry with nan. This is the great combination. I hope that you will be pleased with them. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good. You can relax while enjoying meal time.PUJA is near the Koshienguchi-Station. The access is good, Check it out! ”
